Mission:

The mission of Killing is Wack! Org is to promote non-violence among children and young adults and to serve as catalyst for social change by instilling various forms of education.

 

Goals:

Our goal is to help people create environments in which youth are safe from violence and ultimately contribute to changing the statistics of violence among the youth.

 

Statistics on Youth

and Violence:

  • Each day, 17 youths between the ages of 15-24 are victims of homicide[1].

  • Homicide is the leading cause of death for African American males ages 15-24.[2]

  • In each year since 1988, more than 80% of homicide victims 15 to 19 years of age were killed with a firearm. In 1997, 85% of homicide victims 15 to 19 years of age were killed with a firearm.[3]
