Two men were shot at Eastland Mall around 6 p.m. Saturday, Harper Woods police said.
Witnesses told officers that two groups of young males began a verbal altercation in the mall. Two members of one of the groups pulled out handguns and began shooting. The shooters fired four to six rounds, at least one striking the 18-year-old victim in the chest. The second victim, a 35-year-old man, is an employee of one of the stores in the mall and was struck in the leg while he was standing in front of his store. The shooters then fled the mall in silver Buick Century. Both victims were transported to St. Johns Hospital in Detroit, where doctors said they expect both victims will survive.
